When you've created your Workspace and added a chart to it, we have some awesome filters you can use to drill down on the Feedback you're seeing in your Workspace. In this article, we'll be highlighting each of the filters to explain and show you how they work. Please note, that all of the filters mentioned in this article affect the entire workspace and the filters relate to all of the responses present in your workspace.
This guide consists of:
- Form filter
- Unsubmitted Responses filter
- Meta filters
- URL filter
- Custom Variable filter - Choice filters
- Score filters
- Mood filter
- NPS filter
- Rating filter
The Forms filter
In the creation process of your Workspace, a set of Forms has been selected. The Feedback of these Forms is being shown in the Charts in your Workspace. By default, you will be seeing the Feedback of all selected Forms in the Charts. But if you'd like to decide for yourselves Feedback from what Form should be displayed, then the Form filter can help you out.
To use the Form filter, click on the button that indicates what number of Forms are included in your Workspace:
Once you've clicked the button, a list will appear with the names of the Forms that are supplying Feedback to your Charts. To see what your Charts would look like without a Feedback of a specific Form, simply click on the name to deactivate it:
The Unsubmitted Responses filter
By default, the Feedback shown in your charts are from users who have completed the Campaign they have seen. Per definition, we define a user who has completed a Campaign, a user who has seen the "Thank You" page of a Campaign. But, what about the users who dropped off before seeing the "Thank You" page? We have got those responses covered as well with the "Unsubmitted responses" filter. By enabling this filter, you will see the responses of users who have started the Campaign, submitted one page of your Campaign but didn't reach the "Thank You" page.
To use the "Unsubmitted responses" filter, click on the button that indicates what number of Forms are included in your Workspace:
Click on the slider next to "Include unsubmitted response" and then hit "Apply":
How does this work? When a user navigates from one page in a Campaign to another, their response is sent to Workspaces. The page switch is essential for this. If the user does not navigate from one page to the other, because they leave when seeing the first page, we will not be able to gather the unsubmitted response.
Metadata filters
The URL filter
After creating your workspace and adding one or multiple charts to your workspace, you'd might want to segment your metrics by URL. This can help you to better understand the performance across different business units, locations and/or customer journeys.
To use the URL filter, click on the "Add Filter" button under the name of your workspace:
When the Filter menu opens, select "URL":
After selecting "URL", you will be presented with the option to set a rule for the filter (1.) and the field where you can specify a part of or the full URL/Path (2.):
To help you filter as specific as possible, we have the following rules to choose from:
Does not contain: Will display all feedback that was left on a URL not containing the input in the next field.
Is exactly: Will display all feedback that was left on a URL exactly matching the input in the next field.
Is exactly not: Will display all feedback that was left on a URL exactly not matching the input in the next field.
Once you have selected the rule for the entry in the input field for the URL, hit "Enter" to activate the filter. When your filter has been activated successfully, the filter will be displayed like this:
Custom variable filter
If you're collecting additional information about your users in the form of custom variables, you can also filter your tiles based on that. If you collect variables based on eg. the tier of your customers (gold, silver etc.), you can analyse feedback based on that information to see how your customers view your website across different tiers.
This filter can be found just above the URL filter among the filter options. After selecting it, you'll be shown the option to enter the name and value of the variable that you're looking to filter on.
Similarly to the URL filter, you have some rules you can choose from when filtering based on custom variables
Is: If you only want to see responses that contain the specific custom variable.
Is not: If you want to see all responses except for the ones containing the specific custom variable.
Additionally, you can even include variables that have empty values by toggling the below options:
Choice filters
You're also able to filter your tiles based on Choice elements, which includes the below 3 groups:
Single Choice: includes all elements that only accept one answer. This includes Radio button and Drop-down elements.
Multi-choice: includes Checkboxes elements, which allows users to select more than one answer.
Polar Choice: includes Toggle elements found in In-Page widgets. This option helps compare the positive and negative results to this element.
When adding any of the above three filter options, you'll be prompted to select the question-answer pair you'd like to analyze.
Selecting question-answer pairs within the same Choice filter always functions based on an OR condition. However, when you combine the choice filter with another filter (eg. URL, custom variable, another choice filter), they'll work together based on an AND condition instead.
ADD a workspace filter to understand the total responses that appeared in both 'filter A' AND 'filter B'. To include/exclude responses form 'filter A' OR 'filter B', then use the multi-select option within a filter.
This is visualized on the below screenshot:
When it comes to the Choice filters, you the below rules available:
Includes any of: Includes all of the answer options you selected in the drop-down.
Excludes any of: Includes all of the answer options, except the ones you selected in the drop-down
Score filters

With the latest update of Workspaces, you can now also filter based on the Mood rating element. You can find this option at the bottom of the list under the 'Score question' section in the Filter menu.

2. choose between the rules "Is any of" to include or "Is not" to exclude certain moods

4. Click on 'Apply' to see the filtered results
NPS filter
You can also filter the feedback added to your workspace based on NPS scores. This way, you can easily analyze and compare detractor, passive and promoter feedback received through your NPS questions. You can find the NPS option among the rest of the filters in the 'Score question' category:
When selecting the NPS option, you'll be presented with the below window, where you can:
1. select all of your NPS questions you'd like to see in your tiles
2. choose between the rules "Is detractor", "Is passive" and "Is promoter". Selecting any of these 3 will remove the next step as in that case you won't have to select each score manually. You can also select the rules "Is any of" to include or "Is not" to exclude certain scores
3. pick the specific NPS scores you'd like to filter on - the ones you select will be colorful (detractors - red, passives - yellow, promoters - green), whereas the unselected ones will appear black-and-white
4. Click on 'Apply' to see the filtered results
Rating filter
In addition to Mood and NPS filters, you can also filter your results based on your Rating questions. You can find this open in the 'Score question' section along with the rest of the score filters:
After selecting the Rating option, you'll be presented with the below window, where you can:
1. select all of your Rating questions you'd like to include in your tiles
2. choose between the rules "Is any of" to include or "Is not" to exclude certain scores
