GetFeedback Digital is a great tool to collect feedback with a stand-alone, Full-Page survey, which you share through a URL. In this article, you'll learn how you can customize your Full Page survey a bit more, by using your own website as the background. Since stand-alone surveys are of the type "Full Survey", it might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with creating Full Surveys first.
We will start by creating a Full Survey as we usually would. In the survey editor, you will be able to add your background by clicking the "Advanced" button on the right-hand side of the screen.
Select the option "Use website as a background" and fill in your desired background URL. Make sure that you enter the URL exactly as specified in your browser's URL bar. Then close the "Advanced" modal window and save your campaign as you normally would.
After saving your campaign, you will be able to test your background by returning to the campaign overview page, copying your survey URL and opening it in your browser. The end result will show you a Full Survey, using your website as its background.
What happens if my background is not showing?
Do note that, not every website can be used as a Full Survey background. Essentially, when adding a URL as a background to a survey, this URL will be loaded into an iframe. Some websites set an X-Frame-Options header which prevents the website from being used in iframes as a security measure.
If your website prevents you from using it as a background, you could alternatively upload an image and use that as a background. You can do this by making sure that the image is hosted somewhere. Then follow the above steps to insert the image's URL in GetFeedback Digital.
